“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.”

ComputerWestminster Christian Academy is a place where children are equipped to stand firm in their faith, face the challenges of our age, and bring about godly solutions in our world. We must teach our children how to live out those solutions in their personal lives--not just parrot back what we tell them, but to think through for themselves the biblical response to every situation.

The best available resources for each area of study are utilized, rather than relying on one publisher for all subjects. Student progress is measured by clear objectives for every area of study for each grade. Our teachers are diligent in reporting that progress through academic report cards, telephone conferences, progress reports, parent-teacher conferences and newsletters.

In addition to academic excellence, developing a strong Christian worldview is a central goal of the education process at Westminster Christian Academy. Our students are encouraged to integrate their faith into every aspect of their lives. We do not seek to hide from the world, but rather teach our children how to deal with the challenges of this world armed with the truth of God’s Word.

In Language Arts we use traditional phonics-based techniques and include components of reading, grammar, vocabulary, spelling and penmanship. Mathematics is taught with “hands on” manipulatives and a problem-solving curriculum and science emphasizes "hands on" experiments. Social Studies is also offered in all grade levels. Our Bible curriculum is a story-based chronological approach to teaching Bible; the curriculum is designed to foster spiritual growth. Students attend Chapel conducted by the pastoral staff of Redeemer Presbyterian Church every Wednesday.

Music, Art, Spanish, Physical Education and Computer are offered weekly, beginning in Kindergarten. In addition to our own school library, which emphasizes classical literature and excellent works by Christian writers, our students utilize the excellent public library nearby to check out books and become familiar with methods to access information and conduct research. Field trips explore historical sites, governmental offices and nature reserves as well as theater and art venues.

All classes begin at 8:20 AM and ends at 3:35 PM. Morning Kindergarten ends at 11:35 AM. Afternoon Kindergarten begins at 12:25 PM and ends at 3:35 PM.
