About Westminster Christian Academy
Westminster Christian Academy believes our most excellent efforts glorify God. Therefore, excellence extends into every facet of our programs. Here are just a few of the extra-curricular offerings at Westminster Christian Academy:
Athletics
Westminster has been actively pursuing the development of an interscholastic athletic program and has been accepted as a member of the Metropolitan Private School League. This league includes the following schools: Barstow, Bishop Seabury, Blue Ridge Christian, Dominion Christian, Englewood Christian, Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, Kansas City Christian, Maranatha Academy, Pembroke Hill and St. Paul's Episcopal Day School. Westminster plans to field teams for boys and girls basketball, boys soccer, and girls volleyball; elementary students in 5th and 6th grades are eligible for these teams.
This league creates an outstanding opportunity to further establish school spirit and fellowship within our student body. Additionally, interscholastic athletics will provide an excellent opportunity for Christian outreach within the metropolitan area.
Music Programs
Our School presents two programs each year—one around Christmas and another in the spring. These programs are very well-attended and are a wonderful way to see the schoolchildren perform and share what the have learned. The elementary and middle school programs are held together at a larger rented facility nearby. Westminster began an instrumental program in 2005; the band performs at the regular school programs as well.
Extra-Curriculum Clubs
Currently Redeember Presbyterian Church sponsors a Cub Scout Pak on Tuesday nights. Westminster boys in grades K-5 are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
Skating Party
Another way the kids connect with classmates is through the various skating parties.
Father-Daughter Dance
There is always an enchanting spirit during the annual Father-Daughter dance. Westminster also sponsors Mother-Son, Father-Son and Mother-Daughter events on a rotating basis.
